Description: Thunderbird - December 12, 2004, a free program for working with e-mail from Mozilla appeared. It supports the protocols SMTP, POP3, IMAP and RSS, has a built-in HTML editor, which creates a rather compact code, which in turn reduces the total size of sent emails several times. It supports all kinds of encodings, expands with additional modules and filters ads, as well as unwanted correspondence. The program interface is based on XUL technology, developed by the Mozilla Foundation, with the result that the interface on all platforms looks the same as in applications developed for this particular platform. Mozilla Thunderbird 45 - assigned to the category of versions with a long period of support, updates for which are released during the year.
Mozilla Thunderbird is a mail and news client selected from the Mozilla Suite with many added features: spam filtering using the Bayesian algorithm, excellent IMAP support, SSL support (including support for self-made certificates), filters, multi-colored multi-level quoting, the ability to download from the server only headers, support for one inbox for multiple accounts, the ability to read news from News servers (NNTP) and from RSS feeds, support for skins, extensions, custom toolbars, spell checker and all that.
For comparison: the popular The Bat! loses the lack of normal support for IMAP, HTML, skins, promised by News long ago.
